Who is eligible
  • Applicants must be a member of a club affiliated to Lancashire County WPSA.
  • The proposed course must be recognised by Swim England (ASA) and the applicants must meet all course requirements.
  • The course must be accredited by Swim England (ASA) and delivered by a Swim England (ASA) accredited provider.
How often can the club apply?
  • To give all affiliated clubs an opportunity to benefit from the funding clubs will be restricted to applications in respect of two individuals.
  • Applications received for a Combined Level 1/Level 2 course, only 1 course will be eligible for reimbursement.
  • Only 1 application per individual per year.
How much is the bursary?
  • applications can be made up to 30% of the total course cost for Levels One; Level and Two, and Level Three
What will be expected of the club
  • the club will be expected to pay the full course in the first instance and claim the 30% bursary from the association.
  • BURSARIES WILL ONLY BE PAID UPON SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF THE COURSE
What will be expected of the applicant?
  • The applicant will be required to complete one day (7 hours) of volunteering work for the Association within 18 months of application.(volunteer hours could be marshalling at the Age Group & Championships/Masters Competitions, help out at the Artistic Swimming Competition or the County Swim Camps)
  • The applicants will be notified be the association of the date(s) and time that this volunteering will need to be completed.
What happens if the applicant does not fulfil their volunteer hours?
  • the club will be liable for repaying the bursary fee to the association.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE VOLUNTEERING WORK MUST BE COMPLETED FOR LANCASHIRE COUNTY WPSA AND NOT FOR THE HOME CLUB.

How to apply?
  • Applications must be made via the affiliated club.
  • Complete the course bursary application form stating which course the applicant attended.
  • An invoice or e-mail from the course provider confirming attendance on the course must be included with the application.
  • The application can be made retrospectively for any courses undertaken from 1st December 2022.
  • BURSARIES WILL ONLY BE PAID UPON SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF THE RELEVANT COURSE
  • The club will receive an e-mail confirming that they have been awarded the bursary for the individual (providing the above conditions have been met).
  • The individual will be notified to arrange their volunteer.
